The trip

The third weekend in February every year me and some of my girlie friends take a small little trip. We enjoy this greatly we have nubbed it the Ladies retreat. and it is a blast every year. Something new and exciting happens every year. I fully think everyone should try this @ lease one time.

I thing the best part of this trip is we find somethings out about ourself every year. some times it is different stuff. some times it is the same stuff. but every year we morph into something new. I guess that time away from reality will do that some times. it is a break from the mundane life that we lead every day. a chance to break the cycle. A time to reassure ourself that we are alright.

This year my good friend came up from Alabama. This was her first time since she has been married away from her husband and kids. I thought she was going to have a very hard time just because of that simple fact. Which it was hard for her. But on the other hand she learned allot about her self. She had a fabulous time. she bonded with so many people over the weekend and it was very hard to see her go. But we knew that she had to leave. Even though we will miss her so much.

My other friend realized she needed more social inter actions. and had been needing that female connection of sisterhood. she got her fill of that I tell you

The other lady who went with us found her self again. she had not been whole for sometime. she had a really rough year. But now she realized the person who had caused all of this had no control over her anymore. and she began to heal.

I found my self to heal from a few different events that have happened this year. I needed that time to reflect.

My point is as a woman we need other women in our lives. We need sisterhood we need to connect to other women. And even when you have been hurt by other women in the past you should keep searching for friends. Women find there strength in numbers. I am so proud of my friends , I am so proud to call them sisters.

Update on Emily

Well This just seems like the best spot to give everyone the run down on Emily. I should say it saves on the phone calls.

Our family came down with a very bad virus. But our Emily got the worst of it. It all started last Sunday with a High fever and a cough. By Tuesday Emily had a fever 0f 103.9 and I couldn't break it. She also had red eyes (pink eye) and her lips were red and swollen. I called the doc and we went in. Then I found out that she had swollen tonsils. and her skin was a little dry. All of which could be signs of a Kawasaki a child hood illness that could cause permanent heart damage. So we were sent for some blood work. But there is no real testing for Kawasaki. It is one of them things that they just keep and eye on. So we heard back for the blood work on Wednesday. And doc gave her a diagnosis of Mono. But by Thursday we were spiking a fever again and she was complaining of ear pain. So I call doc again and say is there something she can be given for the ear pain. Doc says is the fever down. I say no. Do her eyes look better. I say no. Well i think we should have her go to the hospital. So they wanted an eco on her heart. and a chest X-ray. But mostly they were trying to rule out Kawasaki. So she got the works and by Friday the only thing the found wrong with her was a urinary tract infection. Ya it was the scariest 24 hours of my life. all over a UTI. I would rather be safe than sorry. So i am chucking it up to no harm no foul. She is fine now. But I am now sick, and so is Jason. We are having so much fun here in the hundred acre wood.

It is unbelievable!

For those of you who know me and read this, you may know i have the worse luck in the world. Now this is a serious thing. It is not always bad. I have gotten really good at laughing at myself. But it happens none the less.If there is a puddle I am bound to step in it. If there is a time frame I will be late (despite all effort to not be late.) and lets not forget hurting myself. I have a candid ability to hurt my self. And yes this happens often. But one of the most annoying parts of this bad luck is the ability to loose everything.

Hair brushes for ex sample, I can never find one. I know we have about 10 floating around this house. You can never find a hair brush in this home. It is like the walls eat hair brushes.

My keys, I can never find them. I put them on the counter an boom there gone. I swear they have feet. because I feel like such a dumb ass when i go back to that spot, (after I have exhausted all my options) and find them right where I left them.

Socks, I have gotten out a pair of socks, put them on the bed with the bra, panties etc. And proceed to dress my self. get all the way dressed and guess what the socks are gone. I have now started putting my socks on first.

I am starting to remind my self of that strange Blondie girl on Harry Potter, You know the one who is scared of what did she call them, O yeah! snarkels....LOL

Well I need to go get ready now for another fun loving day of madness. You all take care.
